'The Walvis Bay Corridor Group (WBCG), established in 2000, is mandated to drive business development that increases cargo volumes through the Ports of Walvis Bay and Lüderitz and the Walvis Bay Corridors, while facilitating corridor and infrastructure development. The Walvis Bay Corridors comprise an integrated network of well-maintained tarred roads and rail systems that support multimodal transport from the Port of Walvis Bay via the Trans-Kalahari, Walvis Bay–Ndola–Lubumbashi Development Corridor, and Trans-Cunene Corridor, and from the Port of Lüderitz via the Trans-Oranje Corridor—providing landlocked SADC countries with efficient access to transatlantic markets. Strategically positioned to enhance Namibia’s competitiveness as the preferred trade route to and from Southern Africa, and to advance the country’s vision of becoming a regional logistics hub, these corridors connect the SADC region with Europe, the Americas, and global markets.
